2010 SHCA Golf Tournament Tees Off for Children With Disabilities

Ripon, CA, May 17, 2010- The Society for Handicapped Children & Adults held its first ever Annual Spring Golf Tournament at the Springcreek Golf & Country Club in Ripon to raise important funding for the Golfing Unlimited program; teaching children with disabilities to enjoy the game of golf! The tournament was a huge success with over 75 golfers in attendance and raising nearly $10,000.00 for this exciting new program.

Golfers enjoyed a mouth-watering BBQ lunch at the clubhouse generously provided by Winton Ireland Strom & Green followed by 18 holes of fun! Event Sponsor Delta Sierra Beverage created quite a stir with their fantastic Stella Artois tee prizes and sampling station and Hole Sponsors such as Vintage Carwash, Lars Enevoldsen M.D., Tahoe Joe’s, American Chevrolet, Minnie’s Restaurant, Pacific Southwest Container, Winton Ireland Strom & Green, Surla’s Restaurant, McManis Vineyards, Don’s Mobile Glass, Storer Coachways, VIP Medical Group, Steves Chevrolet, Bigler Construction and Hero’s Sports Bar provided fun out on the course with a series of games, contests, food and drinks. Black Oak Casino sponsored the exciting Golf Cart Poker Draw game while Valley Sporting Goods and Lucas Insurance created excitement with the Putting Contest and Bloody Mary’s stand. The Cheroot Cigar girls even made a special appearance and over 30 volunteers helped entertain golfers to make the course fun for all!

During the awards ceremony and raffle golfers dined on a variety of delicious appetizers provided by Springcreek and Wingstop. Over 30 fabulous prizes were awarded to raffle and contest winners!
